Antibiotics

Antibiotics are fast acting strong medications that inhibit the replication of bacterial cells. Unlike friendly Phage Viruses that target specific bacterium, antibiotics are less selective thus causing many side effects when used. Phage Viruses have no known side effects which makes them highly desirable from a patient perspective. Antibiotics on the other hand cause many side effects many of which are serious. Bacteria can quickly develop resistance to antibiotics when they are not properly used. Misuse such as overprescribing and overuse has led to catastrophic resistance to many of our current antibiotics leaving us with no effective treatments.
